Energy Management

Mike has reviewed applications for drilling permits, prepared applications for Section 29 tight gas tax determinations and recommended safety or conservation measures to minimize the environmental impact of proposed oil wells on hydrologically sensitive areas. Sometimes mineral valuations become a tax issue and Mike has had experience working with auditing supervisors, attorneys, accountants, engineers and others to negotiate conclusions to controversial audits.

Mike previously represented SUN and CONOCO at regulatory hearings convened by the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission or Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Also, he prepared several special projects or reports requested by Oklahoma Corporation Commissioners or Oklahoma legislators by using his knowledge of administrative rules, State and Federal Law and scientific principles. Mike learned every environmental issue, like every good pancake, has two sides. Now GEM is ready to stand with you on the other side of the regulatory desk as your adviser and help you prepare data and exhibits presenting your side of any issue for hearings or permitting protocols.
